Salycilates side effects: Not just from aspirin! A wide variety of foods contain this compound.

Consumed in large enough amounts, it can lead to mood dysfunctions such as agitation, anxiety, despair and temper outbursts.
Physical problems can include pain, inflammation and bleeding in gut - and abdominal pain, gas and bloating.
Health line and other sites will tell you there is no research to support this. However a vast army of parents whose children are now a joy to live with, and many adults who are now free of salycilates side effects - tell a different story.
There is a vast array of cognitive and neuro-muscular functions that are compromised by salycilates side effects.
I find it notable that many 'foods' high in this compound are among the same bad actors from the produce aisle that are ALSO high in oxalates, phytosterols, lectins, saponins and other poisons.

Spinach, almonds, turmeric, cinnamon, chili and capsicum hot peppers, avocados, pine nuts, cayenne, tomatoes, most berries (including blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and cranberries), figs, guava, mushrooms, and more are on this 'most not-wanted' list. All of these and many more have been implicated in salycilates side effects.
VEGETABLES:
Spinach, broccoli, beets, radishes, zucchini, asparagus, cucumber, cauliflower, ALL mushrooms, olives and olive oil, endive, artichoke, squash, watercress, alfalfa sprouts, rhubarb, corn, fennel, radiccio, pumpkin, chicory, seaweed
ALL nightshades (tomatoes, potatoes, ALL peppers [sweet and cayenne/hot peppers] and eggplant).
FRUITS AND FRUIT JUICES:
Apples, grapefruit, lemons, oranges, tangelos, tangerines, pineapple, cherries, berries (including blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and strawberries), peaches, plums and grapes, kiwi, pomegranate, srarfruit - and any juices or dried fruit made from them.
Also ALL melons, figs and guava.
Dried fruits - raisins currants, dates, prunes.
BEANS:
ALL, esp. broad beans like lima, fava beans
NUTS:
Almonds, peanuts, pine nuts, macadamia nuts, pistachios, water chestnuts
SPICES / HERBS:
Turmeric, rosemary, paprika, tarragon, thyme, cloves, mint, cinnamon, curry, anise, dill, cumin, ginger, coriander, caraway, cardamom, sage, basil, nutmeg, pepper, vanilla, fenugreek, garam masala, etc.
ALL teas (black tea, green tea and herbal teas).
MISCELLANEOUS:
ALL vinegar (cider, white, red wine)
ALL essential oils
While there are some sites you can find where salicylates side effects are spoken of, most place emphasis on aspirin and other drugs. The ones that DO talk about plant foods containing this compound say to 'modify' intake or maybe you can add them back in gradually.
Some even say that this toxic compound is 'good' for you! As you know, most articles we are presented with don't take a stand for optimal health
We have been emphatically, repeatedly, told that the plants listed above are not only healthy for us, but ESSENTIAL for our well-being. No! They and most all plant 'foods' are destructive to our health on every level.
Even anxiety and depression have been attributed to toxins in greens, herbs, nuts, grains and fruits.
Since at best, these poisons place a heavy demand even on bodies of the healthiest of us to eliminate them - why eat them in the first place? It seems a counterintuitive idea to consume compounds which tax our bodies to get rid of them! Think of all the other ways you would like to use that vital energy!
Salycilates side effects symptoms include internal bleeding (commonly in the gut), tinnitus, and skin itching and inflammation which can lead to rashes.
Sinus congestion, inflammation and/or infection
Abdominal pain
Bloating and gas
Gut inflammation
Diarrhea
Tissue swelling
Polyps in nose/sinuses
Itching
Hives
Asthma
All the above are common salicylates side effects. (2)
Less common are:
Severe abdominal pain, cramps or burning
Bloody or black, tarry stools
Severe headache
Tinnitus - continuous ringing or buzzing in ears
Skin rashes

For many, willingness to change eating habits helps them avoid salycilates side effects.
A wide variety of commonly consumed plant products contains salycilates and many other compounds that are a danger to your health. The more you move toward meat and dairy - preferably pasture-raised, the greater will be your success. Unprocessed meats and dairy contain no salicylates. (3)
If (heaven forbid) you are still eating processed foods, here is yet another reason to STOP! Salycilates side effects are caused by many food dyes, artificial flavorings, and fragrances contain this and many other toxins such as heavy metals such as mercury, arsenic and lead - and are made from petroleum.
The bonus is, foods like pasture-raised beef, raw milk, butter and cream, a modest amount of poultry contain a vast wealth of just what we humans (and our closest companion animals - dogs) need to thrive and be as happy, beautiful and vital as we were designed to be.
